If you are interested in getting involved with the Board of Directors or a Chairperson position, descriptions are listed below. Terms are every 6 months.
Officers of the NRC
Terms: November 1 to April 30 or May 1 to October 31
President
Facilitate monthly general membership, board and group leader meetings; arrange speakers for general meeting; preside at all business meetings; attends new group’s first potluck; and oversees duties of all board positions.
First Vice President
Enrolls new members; attends social and gives orientation for new members; maintains database; attends new group’s first potluck; and chairs nominating committee.
Second Vice President
Solicits committee members; coordinates all dinner dance
activities with PM Refreshments & Reservations; secures music/
entertainment; selects theme and decorates event.
Secretary
Takes minutes of all general membership and board meetings;
and sends thank you notes to speakers.
Treasurer
Collects all funds due the NRC and pays all bills authorized by the board; maintains checking account; records all transactions and prepares monthly report; files returns/annual reports; and
attends audit review.
Chairpersons
Activities
Coordinate monthly Cocktails on the Cape and at least two NRC activities; negotiate price for events; take reservations at general meeting; announce activities at general membership meeting; and attends events.
Ladies Luncheon
Solicits committee members; select restaurant and negotiate price for luncheon; purchase raffle items; take reservations at general meeting; announce luncheon at general membership meeting; sell and conduct raffles at luncheon.
AM Refreshments (General Mtg)
Solicit committee members; purchase all food, beverages and paper products; and set up and tear down refreshment table.
PM (Dance) Refreshments
Solicits committee members; select and negotiate pricing with caterer; purchase all beverages and paper products for dance; sets-up and tear down the refreshment coolers; maintains beverages during dance; and work with Second Vice President.
Hospitality
Host monthly Member Social – purchase food, beverages, and door prizes; set-up and tear down Social; assist 1st VP at General Meeting; and work with 1st VP.
Newsletter
Create monthly newsletter; and coordinate with printer and webmaster for publication.
Raffles
Solicit Cape Coral merchants for door prizes; sell raffle tickets; and conduct raffle and 50/50 drawings.
Dance Reservations
Take and manage reservations; assign tables; create dance floor plan; assist with decorating; and work with Second Vice President.
Publicity
Solicit committee members; participate at Farmers Markers or other events to promote NRC; find avenues to advertise; and works closely with the President.
Photo Historian
Take photos at NRC events; email New Member photo to Newsletter; and upload photos to NRC webpage and Private Facebook Group Page.
