If you are interested in getting involved with the Board of Directors or a Chairperson position, descriptions are listed below. Terms are every 6 months.
Officers of the NRC
Terms: November 1 to April 30 or May 1 to October 31
Officers
President
The President shall preside at all meetings of the NRC and will serve as Chairperson of the NRC Board of Directors, be an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee, and appoint chairpersons of special committees when deemed necessary. The President is responsible for arranging programs for the Monthly Membership Meetings.
First Vice President
The First Vice President shall serve as Membership Chairperson. Duties include registering the guests and the new members, preparing membership lists and serving on the Nominating Committee. In the absence of the President, the First Vice President shall also exercise the duties of that office.
Second Vice President
The Second Vice President is responsible for the evening socials, planning and obtaining entertainment, advise the NRC Board of such, and be responsible for carrying out these plans.
Secretary
The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all NRC, Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings, and shall maintain all records of the NRC. The Secretary shall distribute at each Monthly Membership Meeting the minutes of the previous monthly meeting and handle the general correspondence of the NRC.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall receive, deposit and disburse all monies in the name of the NRC as ordered by the NRC Board and give a financial report to the NRC Board and at each Monthly Membership Meeting. A copy of these reports shall be filed with the Secretary and the President.
Directors / Chairpersons
Each Director Shall:
- Keep the Board of Directors informed regarding activities and matters within their area of responsibility.
- Assist in maintaining a positive public image of the Club.
- Be encouraged to obtain gift cards, discounts, merchandise, services, and other donations for the benefit of the Club. Unless restricted by the donor, donated items are intended to benefit the membership as a whole and should be shared among Club activities and programs whenever practical. Items purchased by the Club for a specific activity or program may be reserved for that purpose.
Membership Group Chair
- Work in coordination with the First Vice President in administering the Membership Group program.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and support Membership Group Leaders.
- Meet regularly with Membership Group Leaders to exchange ideas, share information, and discuss best practices.
- Encourage communication, participation, and fellowship among the Membership Groups.
- The Membership Group Chair shall work in coordination with the First Vice President to recruit, train, mentor, and support Membership Group Leaders.
Activities And Hospitality Chair
- Work in coordination with the Second Vice President in planning and conducting Club activities.
- Coordinate hospitality and refreshment functions for Club meetings and events, as needed.
- Assist activity leaders and volunteers, as needed.
- The Activities & Hospitality Chair shall have secondary responsibility for Club activities in coordination with the Second Vice President.
Ladies Luncheon Chair
- Plan and coordinate the Club’s Ladies Luncheon program.
- Recruit volunteers, as needed.
Publicity Chair
- Promote the Club through approved public communications and community outreach.
- Coordinate the Club’s participation in public-facing events, including event registration and volunteer staffing for Farmers Markets, art shows, civic exhibitions, and similar community events.
Reservations Chair
- Coordinate reservations and registration for Club meetings and events.
- Maintain attendance records, as appropriate.
- Coordinate reservation information with activity leaders and the Treasurer.
Raffles Chair
- Coordinate raffles and other Board-approved fundraising activities.
- Recruit volunteers, as needed.
- Coordinate the collection and distribution of raffle and door prizes.
- Account for raffle proceeds in accordance with the Club’s financial procedures.
Newsletter Chair
- Prepare, publish, and distribute the Club’s newsletter.
- Coordinate newsletter content with Officers and Directors.
- Solicit and coordinate advertising for publication in the Club newsletter, as authorized by the Board of Directors.
- Assist in communicating Club news and information to the membership.
Photographer / Historian Chair
- Document Club meetings, activities, and special events through photographs and other media.
- Maintain the Club’s photographic and historical records.
- Manage photographic content published on the Club’s website and official social media platforms.
- Preserve materials of historical significance to the Club
Coordinator Positions
Website Coordinator
- Maintain the Club’s website and related online resources using tools and procedures approved by the Board of Directors.
- Keep website information current, accurate, and functional.
- Coordinate website content with Officers, Directors, and other authorized contributors.
- Recruit volunteers to assist with website responsibilities, as needed.
Special Interest Group Coordinator
- Encourage the formation and continuation of Special Interest Groups.
- Assist members interested in organizing new Special Interest Groups.
- Coordinate communication among Special Interest Group leaders.
- Publicize Special Interest Groups and their activities through approved Club communications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Special Interest Group leaders and the Board of Directors
